LinPAC V

Provides custom linearization of System 10 data-channel measurements

free of charge

Any System 10 mainframe can now furnish high-speed linearization of up to eight different system data channels (these would normally represent nonlinear sensor inputs).

Using a total of 58 segments anchored at any of 256 breakpoints to profile the input at any selected position on the curve, custom linearization can normally achieve linearity with errors of less than 0.05% of full scale.  It is particularly recommended for flowmeter-based and irregularly nonlinear thermocouple-based measurements.

The software lets you load up to eight customized linearization ("look-up") tables into the System 10 mainframe's EEPROM memory.  The same table can be shared by more than one signal of a given type (e.g., TC, RTD, etc.)

Both of the linearization-related programs described in the following table are included in LinPAC V—in addition to the other standard SuperPAC V programs listed below.

LinPAC V Programs

Linearization Programs

LIN To set up internal linearization functions
EDITLIN To enter/edit internal linearization data tables (see the example, below)

Additional Programs
(described on the SuperPAC V page)

COMMLINK Establishes serial communications with System 10
TERMINAL Uses PC as a "dumb terminal" for sending commands/queries to System 10
  DAS1 Simple "live" data display
LIN

[ Back]

Allows creation, entry, backup, and restoration of up to eight customized curve-generating linearization functions (via the System 10 LINEARIZE (LIN) command).  LIN lets the user

create and save linearization functions either from an existing "look-up" data table (see the EDITLIN program, below) or "on-line," on a per-segment basis

download a linearization function from System 10 to disk file for storage or editing

upload a linearization function to System 10's EEPROM memory for immediate implementation

perform an EEPROM WRITE TEST

EDITLIN

[ Back]

Allows creation and/or editing of up to eight internal linearization tables.  Up to 58 separate input points—along with their corresponding output values—can be used to create a table that defines an application-specific linearization curve.  See the example, below.
