System 10 Configurator

With this software, you can set up any "A-sized" System 10 quickly and easily, directly from Windows® . . .

The System 10 Configurator is available free of charge on the latest Daytronic Resource CD

Employing the run-time version of Microsoft® Access 2000, the Model 10S-ACFG System 10 Configurator Software lets you define, store, edit, download, and manage any number of configurations for any Daytronic System 10 housed in an "A-sized" mainframe (only).  (NOTE: This software requires an operating system of Windows 95 or higher.  It does NOT require that Microsoft Access be installed on your computer, but does require full installation of Microsoft Access 2000 Runtime, which is supplied with the Configurator and which takes approximately 32 MB of hard-drive space.)

This convenient utility will save System 10 users a great deal of time and effort when it comes to setting up the system.  And it provides complete backup security if an existing configuration ever needs to be reloaded.

Regardless of its size and complexity, every real-world System 10 application requires its own unique configuration.  A "configuration" is a set of operating parameters that fully define the system's internal channels, bits, and display pages (if present), and that instruct the system precisely how it is to collect and process sensor-based measurement data.

A sequence of easy-to-use screens with input error checking and complete context-sensitive HELP steps you through the entire setup process—all the way from selecting and "locating" the plug-in cards that go into your System 10 mainframe to "live" calibration of individual analog input channels, based on an appropriate user-selected method (see the sample Configurator pages below)

Specifically, the Configurator lets you

set up and test serial communications between the PC running the Configurator and a connected "A-sized" System 10

define "system" setup values for general data-collection operations, data formatting, keyboard programming, etc.

define the system's I/O-card layout

set up all of the system's internal data channels, both "real" and "pseudo"

perform "live" on-line calibration of System 10 real (analog input) channels

set up all of the system's internal logic bits, as required for purposes of automatic safety monitoring or process control

define system "EXECUTE" statements, for automatic event-triggered command execution

set up the system's multichannel data display pages, if applicable

validate a configuration at any time

download a validated configuration to the connected System 10

send specific commands to the connected System 10 and view/print the responses

upload all or part of the current configuration of the connected System 10 into a Configurator file for storage and/or editing

view/print or save as a ".txt" file any of a number of different configuration reports
