A large assortment of optional plug-in circuit cards is available for each system mainframe.  There are three basic types of cards:

	"A CARDS"
	"B CARDS"
	"V CARDS"

Occupying the mainframe's A-CARD rack(s), these ANALOG cards are easily accessible from the front of the mainframe.  They are primarily

	SIGNAL CONDITIONER (ANALOG INPUT) CARDS
	CARDS AND ACCESSORIES FOR SPECIAL ANALOG-BASED FUNCTIONS (see table, below)
	DIAGNOSTIC TEST CARDS (see table, below)

Summarized in the following table, these larger-sized cards may only be used with "B-sized" mainframes.  They are essentially DIGITAL co-processing cards, and accomplish more complex data-acquisition and communications tasks such as "history" recording and playback, network management, and auxiliary computer interfacing.  Like "A cards," they are easily accessible from the front of the mainframe.
