Versatile
Instrument Intelligence Coupled with Outstanding Measurement Accuracy
The
ultimate quality of any electronic measurement depends on how the
"raw" measurement signal is handled. Based on over 47 years'
experience in the field of ANALOG SIGNAL CONDITIONING, Daytronic
instruments perform all required conditioning tasks—including per-channel
analog and digital filtering, A/D conversion, scaling, and linearizing—to
ensure true, noise-free, drift-free measurement results, even in the face of
substantial dynamic content.
Each
instrument's conditioning characteristics are optimized for a particular type
of transducer input (see Instrument Models for Specific
Transducers, below).
These "intelligent" instruments do much more than just signal
conditioning. Except for the 5D Series of simple conditioning
"blocks," each instrument series is capable of evaluating acquired
data and initiating necessary actions for REAL-TIME PROCESS CONTROL.
The
more sophisticated 4000 Series instruments can also perform a wide range
of SIGNAL PROCESSING functions, including cross-channel calculations for ON-LINE
SPC. In addition, they can be easily programmed by the operator to
automatically execute a sequence of standard functions on detection of a given
process condition or event.
2000
Series, 3KPlus Sereis, 3500 Series, and 4000 Series instruments can serve as
high-speed COMPUTER OR PLC "FRONT ENDS"—in both single-node
and multinode (network) environments. As such, they are completely
"STAND-ALONE." Each instrument is independently responsible for
all of its own local data acquisition and control tasks, providing the
supervisory host device with finished measurement answers whenever this
data is requested.
