"V" Option

DC-Powered (Vehicle) Operation

For all instruments except the Models
4010, 4040, 4078, and 4K/HP

A "V" version 4000 instrument can be used with any external 11-18 VDC power supply (30 W maximum). Units with this option may not be operated at nominal 110 or 220 VAC.

This capability, along with small size and outstanding physical and electrical stability, makes these units ideal for any number of "on-board" performance-testing applications involving the measurement and real-time computation of highly dynamic variables like wheel torque, fuel flow, under-hood temperatures, corrected horsepower, etc.—with or without an accompanying portable computer or printer of the user's choice.

Rear-Panel for Optional DC-Powered Units

* The number of analog-input screw terminals will vary with different instrument models.

** This port is also capable of Multinode (RS485 Network) Communications when the "N" Option is present. Selection of interface mode for "N" Option instruments is by "node number" setting.
